Our hearts beat to an African drum

“You cannot leave Africa, Africa said. It is always with you, there inside your head. Our rivers run in currents in the swirl of your thumbprints; our drumbeats counting out your pulse; our coastline the silhouette of your soul.”
– Bridget Dore

What we do

Thinking local

Our why

If you’ve ever lived or travelled in Africa, you’ll know that communication can be…troublesome. We want to give those far-flung lodges and hotels the chance to stay on top of communications – and therefore bookings – by taking it all on from a digitally stable location.

What exactly?

Lodges and hotels: we are your middlewomen. Your dedicated Reservations inbox is constantly checked so that enquiries for your property are responded to timeously, and all interested parties such as agents and operators are kept apprised of property updates. We keep a Dropbox folder full of everything needed for reservations, as well as marketing material. We can handle your social media, website updates and we communicate with all your suppliers to ensure a smooth journey for your guests.

Where are we?

Eat Breathe Sleep Africa is based in Gqeberha, South Africa – formerly known as Port Elizabeth. This means we are perfectly located to hop over to Cape Town, Durban or Joburg to represent our clients at travel shows, workshops and road shows.

Who are we?

Well , this should actually say “who am I”, because the reservations and marketing side of EBSA is run completely by myself, Lauren Nortier. I’ve grown up in South Africa and Malawi, worked in SA, Mozambique, the Cayman Islands, Costa Rica and Malawi, and now find myself back in SA, living vicariously through my clients and their guests. I’ve been a travel agent, scuba instructor, hotel manager, cafe manager and many more along the way – all inextricably linked to the hospitality industry.

Who we have had the privelege of working with

Nuarro Lodge is located on the Northern coastline of Mozambique – the only lodge in a bay fringing the edge of the continental shelf, which makes for world-class snorkeling and diving! Soak up the sun on the tropical, white sandy beach, go for a bush ride on a mountain bike to a secret cove for a private picnic, kayak in the mangroves or sip cocktails from your seafront chalet deck while searching for whales in the bay. Enjoy a sundowner in the beach bar followed by a delicious seafood meal on the beach before retreating to your chalet, hidden amongst the dune foliage. All 12 sea-facing private chalets, the 4 Globetrotter rooms and furniture have been made using local materials, creating the delightful, relaxing environment that is the eco-lodge, Nuarro!
